The China visa photo has tight rules on pixels, file size and background. Each one is explained below.
Size And File
A color JPEG from 354 x 472 to 420 x 560 pixels, a 3:4 shape. The file must be 40 KB to 120 KB.
Background
White or close to white, with no border, shadows or patterns.
Head Size
On the 33 x 48 mm printed photo, your head measures 28 to 33 mm from chin to crown. Face the camera with your head straight and your eyes open.
Glasses
Take them off. Official sources disagree on clear glasses, and the Chinese Embassy in India bans them. A photo without glasses meets every version of the rules.
Hats And Head Coverings
No hat or head covering. Your whole face should show.
No Edits To Your Face
We crop, size and set the white background. We never retouch or change your face.
Before you pay, the software checks size, file, background, pose, expression, glasses and lighting. It cannot tell how old a photo is, so take a new one for your application.
